ESG & ETHICAL PRACTICES CHARTER
1. The “Ethical Facilitator” Framework
Safari Acacia (SA) operates as an intermediary platform and consultancy that prioritizes the curation of wilderness experiences aligned with global ESG benchmarks. The Client acknowledges that SA’s role is to vet, recommend, and facilitate engagements with third-party partner properties (“Suppliers”) based on their reported conservation impact and social responsibility protocols.
2. Verification & “Best-Effort” Basis
SA utilizes commercially reasonable “best-efforts” to verify the facilities, services, and ethical claims made by Suppliers. However, the Client acknowledges the following:
- Data Accuracy: SA is not a primary auditor. We rely on the disclosures, certifications, and representations provided by the Suppliers. SA cannot be held liable for the inaccuracy, misrepresentation, or obsolescence of claims made by these independent properties regarding their ESG metrics.
- Operational Monitoring: While SA strives to recommend partners with high ethical standing, we do not exercise day-to-day management over Supplier operations and cannot guarantee 100% compliance with ethical standards during the Client’s residency.
3. Execution of Specific Ethical Instructions
Where a Client Organization provides specific, bespoke instructions regarding ESG protocols (e.g., carbon-neutral logistics, specific waste-management mandates, or localized community investment), SA will act as a consultant to communicate and arrange these requirements with the Supplier.
- Logistical Constraints: The Client recognizes that the extreme remoteness of wilderness environments may occasionally impede the full execution of specific ethical mandates.
- Indemnification of Failure: SA shall be indemnified against any perceived “breach of ethics” or failure of the Supplier to meet the Client’s specific instructions, provided SA has made a documented best-effort attempt to facilitate those instructions.
4. Community & Labor Standards
SA advocates for fair-wage practices and local community integration. We prioritize Suppliers who demonstrate a commitment to indigenous employment and local supply-chain empowerment. The Client agrees that “Ethical Sourcing” in remote regions may result in higher procurement costs, which are reflected in the premium consultancy fees and package pricing.
5. Conservation Ethics & Wildlife Integrity
All retreats facilitated by SA are subject to a “Non-Intrusion” wildlife policy. SA will not facilitate, and shall not be liable for the refusal to facilitate, any activity that compromises animal welfare or violates local conservation laws, even if requested by the Client. In matters where guest safety conflicts with conservation ethics, safety protocols shall take precedence without creating a liability for SA.
6. Limitation of ESG Warranty & Reputational Risk
SA provides no express or implied warranty that the curated retreat will meet the internal ESG audit requirements or “Net-Zero” targets of the Client Organization. The Client assumes all reputational risks associated with their choice of Supplier. SA is not liable for any secondary or consequential “reputational damage” the Client may incur due to the operational failures of a third-party Supplier.
7. Governing Law
Any disputes regarding the interpretation of this Ethical Charter shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts at Kolkata and the High Court at Calcutta, governed by the Laws of India.
